A shared foundation with an application layer per document type
The foundation — physical and protocol — is shared. What differs by document type is the application layer, that is the specification it is certified against.
Analogue and digital functional testing of the 13.56 MHz contactless interface, common to every document type. Based on ISO/IEC 10373-6 for ISO/IEC 14443, it verifies both the PICC (card) and the PCD (reader). ProxiLAB Quest with SCRIPTIS™ forms the foundation.

Pricing attaches to each test suite, that is to each specification programme, and the SCRIPTIS™ user interface is included. Running a suite requires the corresponding fixtures to be connected, and during testing you follow the prompts for placing the device under test and changing the fixture configuration — swapping antennas in analogue testing, for example.

Specifications and schemes


ICAO and ISO identity documents (coverage depends on the configuration and licences)
The foundation is shared across all document types: the analogue and digital tests of ISO/IEC 10373-6. What differs by document is the application layer, that is the specification it is certified against — ICAO and BSI for ePassports, IAS-ECC and EAC for eID, ISO/IEC 18013 for eDL. When testing a PICC use the reference on the PCD side; when testing a PCD use the reference on the PICC side. Specification versions and current SKUs are fixed at quotation.

Relationship to certification
KEOLABS supplies test tools that have obtained qualification for the specifications concerned. Formal testing is carried out by an accredited test laboratory, and the approval is issued by EMVCo or the payment system.
